Has anyone noticed the amount of single page sites showing on Adwords recently?

I haven't done too much PPC since the last big slap, but back then I really had to jump through hoops to get sites and campaigns back up and running. Have Google relaxed their quality rules?

It's almost like they wound the clock back a few years. I remember a few years before the quality score, if you needed to do something quick you could just throw up a site with a single landing page. To test the water on something new you could even put up a new page on a site that had nothing to do with the product you were selling. Those were the days, the days before PPC was a PIA

Well things have changed from a few years ago.

I remember applying for the TD Dell tender and having to complete 15 page tender form and build a full working site for approval ... then getting rejected,

Now google TD and Dell are accepting 1 page sites

I wonder if it is that many good sites are only one page?!

I was wondering why "FIDE" (the website of the international chess federation) is on page 3 for the search term "chess" (rather than say 1st), when I noticed that there is almost no content on their front page if you disable Javascript. So whilst it is stuffed full of chess content, it is almost completely inaccessible to Googlebots (and no doubt some humans).
