  Is this allowed?

Is this allowed using google Adwords?

Using two accounts for the same keyword appearing on the same page at the same time

ie.

www.example.co.uk ----> goes to www.example.co.uk
www.example.com ----> goes to www.example.co.uk

Im pretty sure this is not allowed, and im sure ive read that people have had instants bans for doing it... the reason im asking is because a very well know merchant is doing this right now, and it doesnt seem fair somehow.

im not big on PPC but i thought the display url had to be the domain where the user ended up, and that using one click of the back button the user ended up back at google?

so the example you said wouldnt work, however they could set up example.com and example.co.uk as clone sites and do it like that.

like i said, not big on ppc but thats just how I thought it worked

could you post an example, search term or something?

Im not really on about the display urls not being allowed, i was thinking more on the lines of the same company using two different google accounts to promote the same products with the same keywords and then sending the visitors to the same website.

If it is allowed then whats to stop them using 20 different accounts and taking up all the first page of the ppc ads.

Ill pm you the search keyword as it wouldnt be fair to the merchant to post it here just incase it isnt allowed.... i dont want to get them banned from adwords!!!

yeah that is odd, what i meant with display URLs and actual destination URLs is - I thought that whatever you had as the display url that domain had to be where you ended up.

Otherwise couldnt say wanadoo bid on broadband, use the display url of www.aol.com and just redirect to wanadoo.

then aol couldnt bid on it using their url due to the whole unique display url rule.

i duno, i think i need to read up on my ppc again! see what your getting at though

I've seen some affiliates do this to get listed alongside the merchant.

Sometimes they even use a mispelling on the domain as the display url.

When Google spots it they will suspend the advert showing the incorrect url - guaranteed.

I've seen it a lot.

PM me the keyword and I'll have a look too if you like.

agree with all of the above.
Google will find it (eventually) and stop it
If it is something bothering you, I guess if you point it out to them, they make take action quicker ?
