Installing wordpress on an addon domain

Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me, i'm attempting to install wordpress on an addon domain, however annoyingly it keeps redirecting back to my original domain, i'm assuming this is some htaccess redirect problem, and was wondering if anyone could help me fix it!

I'm assuming that you mean a sub domain when you say addon domanin

Within wordpress settings panel (General tab) the WordPress address (URL) should be

http://addondomain.yourdomain.com

unfortunately i can't get that far, when trying to install it, i just get redirected back to the original domain, which I think is something to do with my .htaccess rule for permalink redirection.

stupidity! with a smattering of not reading instructions, just didn't go through the install process properly before trying to resolve the url.
