Hi. Can anyone recommend any good sites that show you how to add a search function and display relevant results using Dreamweaver.

    Thanks.

Add a search function to what? To search what? To display results from where?

    php pages? a database?

If you're a bit clearer in your request, then maybe I can help.

I'm developing my affiliate site in HTML using Dreamweaver that will promote a certain type of product and I would like to add a search function to the site so visitors can type in their query and results will be shown on a new page. I assume that some sort of database is required but I have no knowledge of how to create a database so was wondering if anyone could direct me to some useful websites that will help me do this.

Do you know how to create a mysql database on your web server? Do you have this facility from your hosting package?

If so, then create a database on your server and then have a look at the script on this page, it's well commented, so should be easy to understand

Download Gzipped CSV File and insert contents into MYSql table | Pan Fashion

If you don't have the capability to create a mysql database, then I'm afraid searching will become a little difficult, although not impossible.

I have no idea how to create a MySQL database on my web server but I'll ask one of the technical helpers at One.com, they should be able to tell me how.

    Thanks scriptmonkey.
