Can someone with IE6 check a site for me?

    Hi

Posted in the main section but possibly with an over-complicated title.

Can anyone check this site in IE6 and tell me if it displays?

Blu Ray Deals | Best Price Blu Ray Players

It looks pretty awful as it's just a makeshift 7 or 8 page holding site but when I try to open it in IE6 (which I have from Multiple IEs) it opens as a text file in notepad instead. Also tried it on a 'real' IE6 on an older machine, same thing. It happens to all 4 domains on this host but they can't see the problem.

    Thanks

I can't check it personally but you could try the free browser shots service?

You basically specify the url you want to check and select the browsers you want to check it in. (it displays a long list of browsers in different versions including most of IE's versions).

It takes a little while to generate the screenshot but it gives you a full print screen so you would see how a title would look like in the blue title bar as well as how the page looks.

Interesting, thanks. Just tried it and it says something like invalid file type, html files only, in other words it sees that page as a text document and not an html page.

In the Cpanel it says the file type is text/html, just as it does in my other hosting. So it looks like IE6 and earlier sees that file as a text file in this hosting account. Mystified.

Hmm, What software have you been using to create the files?

I think this was done in Dreamweaver 8 mainly, probably from a free template or two adapted by me.

I must say it took a bit of perseverance but problem now solved - I have php in the sites and have an instruction in the .htaccess file but the server wasn't parsing php.
Now fixed - thanks for contributions.
