I have received an email from CJ threatening to kick me off their network as they are unable to see where my traffic is originating from.

Please explain in details how do you promote advertisers in our network and how do you drive traffic to your site. Why are we unable to track majority of your referring URLs?

Please respond by replying to this specific e-mail within 48h of the mailing date.

Failure to respond shall be deemed an admission of liability and acceptance of this letter as 15 days notice of termination, and may result in Commission Junction exercising its right to terminate the Commission Junction Publisher Service Agreement 15 days from the date of this written notice or sooner.
As someone clicks a link on my site, I use the http meta refresh to redirect:
    PHP Code:
    <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="2; ?>;url=<?php echo $affLink;?>">
I do not mess with the referrer info in any way. In my testing the referrer is passed on. I have responded to cj, who have insisted I send the referrer info (or else?).

Is anyone aware of any problems with this method of redirecting?

Do you have an example url of your transfer page? I can tell you from that what you need to do to let cj know what the originating page is. It's a bit rich mind, coming from cj who use up to 5 redirects themselves before you land at the merchant site. Suggest to them that it may be their system that is losing the originating link not yours?
The trouble with the rat race is that even if you win you're still a rat.

Thanks for this. A typical page is Hotpoint FF4DK . Any of the comparison links will take you through the redirect page. The Argos link is a cj merchant, although they all go through the same script.

Quite plainly and simply, your refresh is coming from https, change it to http then all should be well. And if you need it to not be visited by just anyone, make it conditional that the referring page to the redirect page is the product page.

Thanks, I've changed it to http for CJ merchants and asked them for feedback. Thanks again for taking the time to have a look.

CJ still were not happy with this, in then end I changed to a 302 redirect and I got a 'you are now in compliance' email.
