Hi I'm new to word press and I do understand how to cloak a straightforward URL on my page so I dont get slapped by google. However a lot of the affiliate programs I have signed up for the links they give you just drop you generally on their website not on the product. I have noticed in CJ.com that you can drill down to product level and get affiliate JAVA or HTML code so you go straight to the product which is great but....
This is my problem, how do I use that in a WP site? ideally I would like people to click on the image of the product I am promoting and be re directed to my affiliate promotion site
So (A) How do you attach a html / java affiliate script to a image
(B)How do I cloak it from google to stop being slapped for having a visible affiliate link
Any help really appreciated - Thanks Mark![]()

Cost effective web development. Codewise
Unfortunately that video is really out of date and wordpress has changed dramatically since it was made.
To insert an image: When you are adding or editing a post, just above the editorial area you will see: Upload/Insert. Hover over each icon on that line to see what you want to insert. Images is the first icon so click on that.
If your image is on your computer then just click select files, find your image and click ok. It will upload it to your server and present you with a screen so you can customise how you want it to look.
If it is already on the internet (be aware of copyright), then choose "from URL" instead and again follow onscreen instructions.
To Add a link: In the post editor select the image or text you want the link on and click the word "link" that is among the editorial icons.
To mask links there are a couple of plugins. I use Link Cloaking, but there are others if you do a search. There's also Pretty Link, which apparently can give you stats as well.
