Oh My God, I just HAD to share this with you all.....

surely, this HAS to be the most badly designed website in the world. Ever. Basically is shows example of everthing you shouldn't do! EVER!!

Bad design, Bad layout, Bad (out of date) content, its just is the pits..... look at how no planning went into this at all, and affiliate links were just plastered everywhere willy nilly etc. I know I'm no expert, but I just want to sit this woman down, wipe all the pages clean and start again!

I'm sorry If I sound too harsh, but check it out then tell me what you think....

The crazy thing is is that this person actually thinks this is quite good!!!

Don't really think this kind of "pointing at" people's websites who probably are not involved in this forum is either appropriate or conducive to active discussion... but then that's my opinion.

I'm sure she, whoever, thinks highly of your websites too.

Not everyone has reached your level of expertise, so don't knock em.

studying bad websites can really help when learning how to make good websites.

When i think back to my first attemps at web design about 6 years ago it makes me shudder.

So no-one can post URL's of sites they think are poor anymore ?

Yet books are published and sold worldwide featuring "websites that suck".

The moderation on this board is now intruding on upon its normal day to day affairs.

Please lighten up or clearly state what is and is not allowed.

    >So no-one can post URL's of sites they think are poor anymore ?

If your point has some value and is relevant to affiliate marketing then I don't see a problem and is posted in the correct forum.

    >Yet books are published and sold worldwide featuring "websites that suck".

They sure do, but they don't just say check the state of this web site. The point to these books is to break down what is wrong and explain how you can improve your own site without making the same mistakes. It's not just pages of "oh my god this is total rubbish".

    >The moderation on this board is now intruding on upon its normal day to day affairs.

Far from it, if it wasn't for board moderation this forum would not be online at all and no merchants or network in their right mind would post on an un-moderated forum. Comments edited included personal attacks on networks staff, slander, personal attacks on other board members, the lists goes on. Every single edit that is done is has to be posted in the Moderator forum, and our reasons why.

Basic forum rules are here www.affiliates4u.co.uk/forum-rules.htm

Reason for having more moderators is here pub105.ezboard.com/fukaffiliatemarketingforumfrm6.showMessage?topicID =2078.topic

You are welcome to bring up any unfair moderation with Matt as it is his board at the end of the day, he may even put back what was removed or edited as doing the moderator role is a volunteer position by people who just want to see a more balanced and fair view expressed on the board and it's hoped many of the networks will return to posting on a regular basis.

coolnetstuff looks content wise like everyone elses 1st go at affilate marketing and boy look at the header and left border.that sure is a strange colour and design.:rollin:

I must agree with aclarke's comment above.

There seems to be a slight bit of stuffiness going on around here.

Not all of us on this forum have been in the game for years, some of us only started very recently.

Some of the guys and gals on here are (quite rightly) not so forthcoming with free information on what makes a great affiliate website that will pull in the mega-bucks so can we at least be shown what DOESN'T make a great affiliate website?

I can see no harm in it, I doubt CUSTOMERS read these pages, it is solely here for peeps who are actively involved in affiliate marketing.

If you guys displayed my site as a "This site totally sucks" example, I would probably be quite hurt at first but then I would take your criticism and use it to make my site better.

Of course, if I was making an amount of money from my site that pleased me, your comments would be mostly ignored and I would select those genuinely constructive pieces of criticism to work on.

If a site is selected for discussion negative or otherwise, I don't see what the problem is at all... the biggest lessons to be learned are not necessarily from other people's successes but from other people's failures.

In summary, don't think that because you are earning a ton of cash from your website, everyone else on this forum is doing the same, some of us are new and welcome any information this forum can afford. Even if it is only "How NOT to do it".

That's kind of the point I was making in part of my comment... if the site is making the owner a ton of cash, our comments aren't going to upset anyone.

By putting sites up here for "judgement" then it can only be personal judgement... what you dislike, I may like.

It's all opinions, some criticism can be ignored, some is worth taking on board.

Let us decide without censorship is the main thrust of my argument I suppose.

Well shrugged we all could aggree with your points there, but the biggest point that you should not forget is how capable the person was at making the judgement.

ie having a flash intro and your site in a frame is a big no no.

As long as she (I will refer to her as she as ive no idea who she is or who she's website is) is not doing any of those two things then she cant be doing that much else thats bad.
