hi mat...when i resize the window with IE6 on the home page...adsense does overlap the piccy of the caravan...thats one of the downsides of fluid css columns with images in them...obviously google fiddle with their browsers...![]()
Hoping for a small favour here.
I keep getting mails from Google telling me that I could be kicked off Adsense if I don't sort out a "problem" on a site of mine.
They have told me that Adsense is obscurring page content . According to most recent message "we are still encuontering the problem and it occures when the browser window is resized to a smaller (thinner) configuration.".
(don't you love the tech-talk, and the cunning use of two typos in one sentance).
Here's the problems:
1. They won't tell me what "thinner" resolution they are using
2. They won't tell me what browser they are using
3. No-one else has complained about this
4. Everything seems fine to me at 800x600 under NN and IE
5. I can't see anything in their terms that refers to this sort of problem (note: according to them content is obscured, not ads).
If anyone has a moment, could they take a look at www.c4caravans.com and let me know if they have a problem. If they do a screenshot would be a great help.
This site was going to be my "holiday fund", so this is really hacking me off.

when i look at the adds they are missing a small bit down the right hand side
browser ex/6
800*600
hope this helps
Thanks guys. I'd come to the conclusion that someone was using a phat ol' history bar.
Still can't see anything in the terms that I should be worried about, but I think I'd rather redo the layout this weekend than risk losing my holiday fund!
i think that the adsense team...rightly or wrongly...are concerned that if google ads can overlay content on your site...then you might be tempted to popup a full page...resized to adsense size...and only showing the ads...guilty till proven innocent?
you only need to change the central column width in your stylesheet...make it fixed width...about 500px should do it...
Yeah.. just hate fixed width. Seem to be doing too much of it lately. May go down the active CSS route and size the layers based on resolution if it is a quiet weekend.
Might even make it all hideous colours for anyone in the Google IP range... that'll teach 'em !
Cheers for the help though. Really feel like asking them exactly what part of the terms I am breaking, but will probably just grin and grovel![]()
