    Hi,

Am I right in saying MySQL is free. Anyone know where I can get a copy?

    Cheers

Just a thought, would I be better teaching myself ASP and SQL rather than PHP and MySQL or should I use MySQL and ASP??

In a way I would prefer ASP as that is what we use on dot2shop but its a hobby rather than core business!!

If you're starting from stratch and have done a bit of ASP it would probably be best to look at asp.net.

I'm starting to look into it a lot more and its a very powerful platform.

A good place to start is http://www.asp.net

they have some free software to download for .net development.

    Just my 2p.....

I'd go for .NET too if you've some background in ASP. You can get the appropriate drivers for MySQL to use with ASP/.NET so you don't need to cough up for SQL Server.
