Can anyone recommend a decent news publishing script?

I've spent days looking through script directories, and installing loads of different systems, and I've found nothing that suits my needs. Might have been quicker to write one myself!

I'm not looking for a full content management system, I've tried several of these, and they're overkill for what I need, and they don't give me the flexibility to integrate the news into an existing site.

    Requirements:

    PHP

Not a full CMS (I only want news publishing, not all the other baggage that comes with a CMS)

    SEO friendly

    Output to RSS feeds

    One news article per page

    Categorisation

Easily added to an existing site (ie, can just add the headlines as an include to my home page)

    WYSIWYG news entry screens

The last two on the list are optional, everything else is essential.

The scripts I've seen all fail on at least one of my requirements (usually the RSS bit).

I've tried Wordpress, but it looks too difficult to 'plug in' to an existing site.

I've found something that I think will do the job, with a few modifications, not had enough time to install it and play with it yet though.

You can use the rss to plug in really easily... you just need a little script thing
it is set up to give the top 10 items automatically ... but I'm sure if you're techie you could tweak it ...

I think thats where thre rss2html comes from.

Very easy to do if you've got a cpanel host which autoinstalls scripts - wordpress - then the rss is seconds to do.

I was looking for a news script myself yesterday and found this..

    http://cutephp.com/

It does everything you asked for except RSS. But it uses a template system that should quite easily allow you to generate RSS output of your news. Plus you can call multiple templates easily.

Its not very SEO'd out of the box but I did a quick mod_rewrite hack.
