Just out of interest, what do people generally use for their datafeeds?

    a) Off the shelf software (Paid for)
    b) Open Source Software
    c) Customer Build Software

If it's a or b, what is it called and how long does it take you to setup a new feed?

With the amount of discrepancies in datafeeds, I don’t think there are any software solutions which cover all feeds.

If you like hundreds or thousands of static pages from a feed then Webmerge is worth a try, but to get around the dupe content you will need to play with the feed before you create the pages.

I bought it, used it once, but it was too much hassle! So C is the answer to this one.

    Cheers for the reply Ste.

So do you use php for your site? and do you use datafeeds at all? You got a link to any of your sites so I can take a look?

As a side note, where in Lancashire are you? I was living in Leyland for a few years before I moved back down south in January.

I use a mixture on different sites, I don’t wanna go into details on here as I don’t wanna reveal my sites. I am originally a southerner, but the calm of the north west was calling – I am in Fleetwood, just outside the doom and gloom of Blackpool !

A friend of mine used to live in Fleetwood - Steven Bacon, he setup a Wireless ISP in the area I believe, but then moved to Wales!

The south will tempt you back one day, trust me..

    That's Steve!

He did say that Fleetwood has a big community where everyone knew each other - I guess he was right
