Can anyone recommend an ecommerce script that is...
    • Powerful - i.e. good/easy to use backend
    • Cheap - i.e. free or under 50 quid
    • Easy to customise

    Cheers

You could give cubecart a try

    http://www.cubecart.com/site/home/

I've found it a bit easier to customise than some of the others.

I must say that I still like oScommerce and its derivitives zencart and creloaded

I have used CREloaded on a couple of projects and I have had no real problems.

    On a similar thread
I am looking at producing a new store.
BUT I am looking for a cart that can handle readable seo friendly URLS.

I know that oscommerce can do 'seo friendly' URLS But I am looking for something more readable

    IE
oscommerce URL (SEO Friendly looks like)
    PHP Code:
    http://www.somethingsmellsnice.com/strawberry-cream-p-47.html
I would like the URL to look like
    PHP Code:
    http://www.somethingsmellsnice.com/hand-made-soap/strawberry-cream.html
Any suggestions for an off the shelf solution OR good oscommerce/creloaded mod?

Close - but not quite what I am after:

eg from one of the listed stores

    Category
    /store/sections/8/gifts/

    Product in that Category
    /store/products/6/110/deluxe_backgammon_set/

    Would like something more like

    /store/gifts/

    and

    /store/gifts/deluxe_backgammon_set.html

    OSCommerce WILL do that.
    Here's an example : http://rangemaster.dk/
It will produce links like this : http://rangemaster.dk/Books/Picking-Up-The-Brass

It was definately a 'contribution' I downloaded - it was a year or so ago & I can't remember exactly which one - I'll have a dig around tonight & let you know.
