Dynamic URL to Static URL Converter allows you to convert your dynamic URL's to static URLs.
A dynamic URL is the one that has user defined variables in the URL itself, based on which the web page executes the functions to display specific information to the users. This information could be the content (text) on the web page, or a picture or any other information.
This would allow the web site owner to direct traffic from search engines or other traffic sources to the URL where the relevant product is displayed. Great, what a solution. But ...
The only disadvantage of using dynamic links is that search engines will only identify the static part of the URL (http://www.yourdomain.com/product_details.php) and ignore the rest (?prodid=192).
You can now use the Dynamic URLs but display them as Static URL.
With our new Dynamic URL to Static URL Converter, you can create the .htaccess code with the code that is required to do the conversion. The following steps make your life easy:
1. Paste your dynamic URL in the (Enter Dynamic URL) section and click Generate.
2. Copy the code for the .htaccess file for the type of static url you want, paste it in your .htaccess file and upload that file to the folder where your dynamic web page resides.
3. Add dynamic values in your new static URL and start sending traffic to it
Thats all ... you are all set to go.

Absolute rubbish!The only disadvantage of using dynamic links is that search engines will only identify the static part of the URL (http://www.yourdomain.com/product_details.php) and ignore the rest (?prodid=192).
This used to be a problem years ago, but in the last couple of years the search engines have had no problem with it.
As an example, do a search on google for "Mood Beams - Series Two"
The 4th result is:
Prezzybox.com: Mood Beams - Series Two £9.95Mood Beams - Series Two available in the UK now from Prezzybox at £9.95. In stock at Prezzybox - with free, fast, delivery over £40!

I still implement mod-rewrites simply as it looks nices to an end user and is more SEO'd than dynamic URLs. I prefer to have;
mysites.co.uk/widget-make/top10/widgetid123.html
Just that the "widget-make/top10" may help SEO sites, it may not, but I prefer it. I however use the online resource;

The big 3 don't have a problem spidering dynamic url's anymore, but I think there are times when using rewrites is imperitive - to shorten url strings, makes it look nicer, easier to crawl, easier to link to, and gets your keyphrases in the url (good for seo and increasing ctr). Like Frosite says, it is ultimately nicer and easier for the end user which should be the first consideration when making a site
Ever installed a forum, blog, cms system???
Heard the term - Search Engine Friendly URLs?
Wonder what that is?
Look at the URL of this page in the address bar ... this is a dynamic page but is shown as static (for a reason)
it is not that complicated. Search engines like static looking URLs and that is what this tool lets you use. Almost 1000 ppl used it and loved it ... some, who have an illusion that they know better, might not have liked it however ...
Cheers
