    Hi Lee

What a great script. It answers a problem I have had for some time.

I wanted to add datafeeds to a site of mine that promotes many different affiliate programmes but it is all written in html. This script is just what I need to add some extra directories to the site for the datafeed content. Then a few cron jobs to update the feeds and the site can look after itself.

I also had a quick look at your mysql script - pity that I have just about finished writing my own code for the site that would have been useful for.

    Thanks very much moredial :-)

I tried pushing this free product feed script ages ago but nobody seemed interested, probably because it looked too complicated (which it isnt), so now we are trying this chopped down version which is not as powerfull but also not as intimitading

Our Mysql version of this script (for £9.99) has all the advanced options, so people who try our free version will start to feel more comfortable with our MySQL version.

Looks like the cut down has a gremlin in the script for the 'more info' link - I keep seeing the same content whichever product I click on, and the description is repeated 3 times too.

I have PMed you the url for my test.

Download a csv product feed from the network or merchant, upload it to your webspace.

Then follow the instructions from my first post.

1 - Enter the url to your CSV file
2 - Select the CSV elements you wish to use
    3 - Run the website.
4 - Copy the code you have created
5 - Download the website files
6 - Upload them all to your webspace

It really is very simple, you will probably have to do a few 'trial on errors' when selecting the CSV elements but you can keep testing your script using 'Run Website' until it all appears to run ok.

When you are happy with the results select 'Get Code' this gives you your own config.php file which contains your chosen csv element placements.

Then you click the link to download the rest of the files which make up the total script.

Then upload your config.php file and the rest of the script files to your webspace.

The script will run any working csv product feed as long as the categories are not in a seperate file.

You may also find this page of some use.

You don't need that unless you are arranging direct ftp. Far easier to just use the feed url as suggested.

I have found out why my first attempts were not working - I had not chosen the correct field for the unique ID.

Some of the datafeeds I am using leave much to be desired in terms of how much content is included and the consistency of which fields contain which data.

My spider-senses are telling me this is brilliant .. no idea how to work it though so bear with me.

Am I right in saying, a basic hosting package is unlikely to allow this?
Thus, I need a hosting package that allows "SQL, PHP" stuff?

Also, what 'web address' do I enter to view this info pls?

    Thanks.

    Hi

    Yes it is brilliant :-)

It will work off any basic PHP hosting package, this version does not require and databases as it runs directly from the merchants productfeed csv file.

We do have a mysql version for £9.99 which is even more brilliant.

I have to admit I am thinking of paying the pennies for the mysql/php version - my bandwidth is quite high with the large csv files I am using for this.
