On the installation, I get a blank screen when I select "Go to Step 2", any ideas what it might be?
Also, I'm new to PHP files so forgive this simple question. I'm using a Linux server to host my website and that works fine with other php files I have, however, how do I view these files offline? For example, how do I visualise the site in order to play around with the stylesheet etc?
I use a Windows XP desktop. Would it be better to buy a seperate linux based computer to do the script work on? I noticed Dell sell a notebook for just £329 which I'm prepared to pay.
Thanks.
If you've run install.php there's 3 files to CHMOD to 777, i think they are:
includes/connect.php
admin/uploads/ (the folder)
the last one i cant remember! Lol
After that you've got to set up a database (easy peasy if you have Cpanel) then setup a user, then connect that user to the database.
Then, in step 2 fill in the blanks with the db name, username/passwords, etc
Does that help? I hope it does because i'm very proud of myself for this reply
Matt
Yes I've run install.php, filled in details for that page and then clicked on Step 2 as instructed. The next page is a white screen.
MySQL database is setup.
I've e-mailed AffiliStore, posted on their site's forum and sent a PM on this forum but just haven't heard anything back.
You're right, the CHMOD needed to be changed to 777.
I've now got the following error message ..
You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'ORDER BY prodPopularity DESC LIMIT 0, 9' at line 1
I'd appreciate any help with this.
Thanks.
kungfu - thanks for the PM and support - all working well now.
It's official .. AffiliStore not only have a brilliant tool, they're brilliant people too.
