On a few sites I've been experimenting with various networks and their Widgets, Content Units and banners - I don't like the way you often see 'Waiting for networktracking.com' on a blank page and slowing down my page loads.

I understand that recording banner impressions etc is very useful but I'm just wondering if any can advise on methods (using php for caching?) to get around this and tracking still works? I'm happy to not record impressions to increase performance. metrics pages tell me all i need to know.
