    Hi all

Just wondering if others are noticing a higher than normal January drop off in traffic and sales for higher value goods (computers, TVs etc) this January after the VAT hike and general doom in the jobs and housing markets?

Would be interesting to get a general consensus across those of us targeting the higher value ticket items.

I don't think the vat rise will make any odds - just like the drop didn't. But I think there is a general lack of confidence and reluctance to make big ticket purchases because nobody is entirely sure how things are going to pan out. Talk of a big rise in interest rates are more of a worry than the vat rise which is a drop in the ocean by comparison?

We had a cracking start to the year on higher ticket items, but these have deffinately dropped off since the VAT rise. I think a big part of the drop off is Jan sales coming to an end also, or at least the good deals anyway.

Good article here I was just reading about Post Christmas sales exceeding all expectations: http://www.affiliates4u.com/news/201...ristmas-sales/
