I am thinking about setting up a mini seo network using seo hosting on multiple c class IPs. So first question would be does seo hosting work or is it just something being pushed by hosting companies because it commands premium pricing?

Also, I am not sure about what sort of footprint my planned network(s) will leave for G with the way I plan to implement it so would appreciate any advice.

The plan is for all domains to have whois protection or be registered in various family members names for maximum obscurity. Then to have the following

Health niche - 20 mini sites (on 20 c-class IPs) linking to a health money site (on a server in a different country)

Fashion niche - 20 mini sites (on same 20 c-class IPs as health mini sites above) linking to a fashion money site (on same server/IP as the health money site)

The health and finance networks DON'T interlink anywhere and non of the mini sites will be monetised so no footprint on adsense/affiliate codes.

My concern is, would the fact the two networks are using basically the same IPs make them likely to be found as a footprint and penalised by the search engines? I know I could buy more c class ips to keep both networks separate but that starts to get really expensive.

Finally does anyone have any recommendations for seo hosting companies?

    Thanks

hostgator offer this as a service....but still all servers are in one datacentre.

If I was google I would check for:

    different hosting companies
    different class c ranges
    different templates
    different whois
    different reg dates for domains
different backlink structire for linking domains

No idea what they use, but they would be easy to check.

Thanks Doug I am aware of the hostgator company, interesting point about the servers all still being in one datacentre.

Domainmanagement - thanks for the heads up

Nota saying they track any of this, but it's all easy to do and if I was google and know hostgator and numerous others offer this as a service I would look at it. So my view is if they don't use that data now they may in the future, so why take the risk?

Personally i woudl go with these guys Go Pro with SEO Hosting they have servers all over the place including manchester, and a truly huge range of class c. The only isse iwth them is that their sites can sometime go down for no reason.. lol.. can be very annoying!

Site's going down for no reason strikes me as a pretty big issue... even worse if "no reason" is actually what they said to you!

Wouldn't you be pretty mad to do this? Basically you're signing up for a service that advertises itself as allowing you to trick Google by producing spam sites. G just might catch on

Sure there's risk in any business but doing something like this is beyond risk - it's a certainty of being wiped just a matter of time. Completely setting aside the need to have separate domain owners at separate addresses with different styles of site do you really think Google is too stupid to not join the dots on a "truly huge range of class c" offered by the same host?

Google will fix the loophole if it becomes a big problem....but then every major brand now buys links and they can't fix that one.

Different issue. If Joe Public can't find a major brand on Google after seeing a TV ad Google looks stupid - the brand tail wags the Google dog. On a smaller scale more relevant to affiliates I'd be very surprised if Google weren't already wise to "seo hosting" - it's so obvious

Hey there. I'm new here, but I'm not new to SEO. I'd echo dougs suggestions and add that you need to really random it up - it's really easy to create a pattern - which you need to avoid or else you may risk the network. Use:

    fake domain contacts/reg details
don't reg all domains on the same day
    different domain reg companies
different hosts with different server locations, may be worth focussing on UK servers if that's your target market
mix of site types - e.g - simple html, wordpress, drupal

Get all your costs in a spreadsheet mate, cos to get this right you'll have to spend a few bob. It may be worth considering pumping ur budget elsewhere.

Have to say though, these suggestions are me with a paranoid hat on. I've seen lots of networks that have patterns but get PR and appear to offer SEO benefit to the people buying links off them - Likewise I've seen networks that appear to get penalised and lose all their juice overnight.

Let us know how u get on
