    Hi Guys,

Just wondering if anyone had any tricks or advise for on-site content for SEO. Right now i usually just try to write lots of content and keep my keyword density at about 10%.

What else can i do to improve on-site SEO?

Write naturally, don't even think about density. Ensure your page has one H1 tag and H2 tags which contain your keywords. Articles at least 200-300 words. Keywords included in your article title and that that same post-title is used as the <title> tag. Etc.

10% yikes! depends what industry you're working in, but I wouldn't say anymore than 5% and work in synonyms. And then whack the search term you're targetting into Google and add in the words it suggests at the bottom of the results pages below: "Searches related to:"

I think 10% is too high.

Also make sure that your keywords are in the <strong> <title> <meta> <h1> and <alt> tag for each page.

On a related subject, do you folks think it is better to have good articles/content on your site to attract Google or submit them to article directories for good quality backlinks?

Or should a combination of both be used?

According to me Keyword density is high you should work on that, it should not exceed to 6%. Personally I have keyword density between 3 - 7 to every 100 words.

A agree with Gadget. I don't think you should worry about Keyword density. You should write naturally and ensure you are fitting in your target keyphrases as naturally as possible.

Your content needs to appeal to your sites visitors as well as search engines.

    I agree with getvisible

I also use lsikeywords.com to pull in LSI keywords. I do have Web Content Studio that also does this for me but the lsikeywords website is free. What you do is enter the main keyword. The tool then goes to the top sites that rank and pull in all the related terms they use.

I am a freelance writer and have written many different articles in the past, if you are interested I could write each article for you which is seo rich for the certain key words at a price per article?

10% is too high. I write SEO keyword rich articles, as my signature would suggest, and i utilise 1 keyword in approx every 100 words, so in essence approx 1%, and it works well. Incoporating a keyword density of 10% would seem unnatural and may well come across as keyword stuffing, which would not be good, as well as the fact that it may not read well.

    Thanks for the feedback guys.

One question i have, If density should be lower or 1% as garda's recommendation, then wouldn't other words take over and replace the keyword?

If I write naturally without considering the keyword, I find that the keyword density becomes about 6-7% which i thought was quite good?
