We have an online skill game site since 1997, so it has a high DA and our page rank is still 4 and it is really getting harder to get the page rank high, I am doing some of the seo methods also and I wanted to know which method will give the most good or faster result for the page rank.

Why do you want PageRank? It's obsolete.

One of the most useful & liberating things you can do as far as pagerank is concerned is to remove your Google toolbar.

You could try purchasing premium links from Yahoo/Best of the web and the likes. This has helped me in the past to give the PR a push. But again, as mentioned by others.. PR shouldn't be your concern. It will build up in time if you are following the natural process of SEO

Forget PageRank. It won't be long before Google stops this altogether.

What a complete load of pointless drivel.

If you want high PR then steal it from those who are stupid enough to let you steal it by inserting backlinks to your site on their site. All you are missing is the details of those stupid enough.

I think PR 4 is not that bad... especially when PR is outmoded. If your website is performing good, giving your good conversion and traffic then you don't need to worry about it.

This is the main problem with affiliates - too much focus on Google and not enough on making money. If you are the proud owner of a pr4 website that's making money then there is only one statement that matters.

"I'm the proud owner of a website that earns money"

Forget PR, how many links you have and all that guff - you own a decent site, period. Customers will now link to you on account of you being handy to know, I think Matt Cutts used the phrase "Push the snowball gently down the hill, not pushing it hard up the hill".

If your earning money find ways to increase that, move into other product ranges, increase the range of your seo keyword spread and look for better affiliate deals. Don't look for ways to start pushing that snowball up the hill again or at what the "guru's" tell you to look at - your already doing better than them on account that... well you actually do it!

Page Rank can be calculated on the basis of the number of inbound links for a Web site as well as the quality of the pages providing inbound links. So, to get high PR, you have to increase the number of inbound links.

1.Get lots of backlinks from quality sites.
One way to do this is to write articles and submit them to websites accepting author submissions. You could just google for these sites. Also it's good to inlcude your keywords in the anchor text from the sites linking to you.
2.Add your url to the Open Directory Project
3.Sign up for Google's Webmaster Tools.
So you can learn more about how your site is crawled and to submit your sitemap.xml
4.Get W3C validated so a bot cannot be confused by bad code.
5.Use clear URLs for your pages.

I think content should be given first priority, as google always looks for good content and if this is with your site then surely you will have good rank to your site. After content you can focus on link building services, it increases your site rank as well helps in SERPs too.
Higher page rank can be achieved through link building, forum posting and blog commenting.
