The changes are recognised when google re-crawsls and indexes your site. The messages will remain there until google updates the webmaster tools a few days to a few weeks maybe
Quick question that I hope someone can help with. I have been going through my Google Webmaster Tools and "fixing" any issues it highlights. The problem I have though is that I want to know if my fix has been recognised by Google. I made the changes a couple of days ago and I know my site has been crawled since, but the changes dont show in the Webmaster Tools although I know the fix has been completed succesfully. Anyone have any experience on when the changes show in Webmaster Tools? A lot of the fixes are related to the HTML Suggestions function.
Many thanks as usual!

Could take a while. So long as you know you have fixed things I wouldn't worry too much about it?
It's always a good idea to validate your HTML right after you've launched the site as opposed to using Googles suggestions. I would check that the changes you've made are 100% correct using W3C's validation service. It could take up to 6 weeks for WebMasters to update
Google Webmaster is very effective ..
Normally HTML or content related problem will take time to shown in webmaster tool. Re submitting sitemap is only ways and also try to change slightly daily bases and update sitemap. For me took more than 2 months to show in the webmaster tool ( some broken links)
I had faced a broken links problem with one of the website in webmaster tools. But once I corrected the broken links the errors showing before were gone within a week. Seems the frequency set within the sitemap also help in getting crawl and re-correct the previous errors.
