Hi people. I'm new to this affiliate thing and i'm just beginning to understand the basics of getting a good position on google. The thing is my website seems to jump from being in the twenties one day (which is bad enough!) to four hundred the next. The keywords i use are 'free bets'. Is this normal? or should it keep a roughly static position? To keep my website fresh i simply upload my index page via a web- based ftp server. Is this ok to do or will this dramatically affect my google rating?
Any help or thoughts would be appreciated. The bottom line is I want to stop checking my position on google-dance every 2 hours!
this bouncing about is called the everflux, your site position will stablise after the next google dance which is not due until the last week in the month (and may even slip into January).
Ever flux is doing my head in one of my new sites has been in everflux for 3 months now! some pages go then come back then go. Just hope it settles down soon
Thanks for your replies people - it seems my meta tags have taken a bit of a battering so i'll definitley be looking at changing them! I guess its a case of trial and error and seeing what works best. Anyway, cheers and may the turkey be kind to you over crimbo.
