If you love being sued here is some great names for you.

If you just can't stay out of court here is a great bunch of names that all came on the market again today/yesterday.

ukmsn.com
ukhotbot.com
uklycos.com
ukgoogle.com

By the way I would advise you not by these, this post is only a bit of light fun after noticing them all come back on the market... but some donkey is going to buy them for sure... hope he/she has nothing to lose.

I noticed ukmsn.com yesterday when I was looking through some expired domain listings. I couldn't think of a way to make money from it legitimately so I didn't register it.
I did buy a couple of others though, there are often some pretty good names available if you look hard enough.
I find looking at expired domain names gives me ideas for new sites that I wouldn't otherwse think of. Probably wasting my money though. I have about 20 unused domain names at the moment, I keep buying them with big plans for the site, but rarely get round to using them.

I buy domain names all the time, each for a future site plan... way I look at it is they are only a few pounds a year so it's worth getting the good ones today and trying to work on them in later years when you get the time.. all names have a plan, some just take longer to come to life..

I think I own over 1,000+ names the yearly bill if frigin high but hey when you get 1 good idea working on one of them it makes the rest look like you got them for free.

i Bought over 2000 names 2 years ago and I have resold only 27..... most of the others I have let expire on renewal. (still kept about 300)

Fortunately 3 of the 27 sold put me well into profit on the overall bundle but that was at the time when people were dot com crazy. In fact 2 of those 3 names sold for big money have since gone broke with million+ losses, not surprising given their absurd ideas!

I don't buy domain names to sell however I done alright out of selling icscotland.com to the mirror group.. Here is an article if your interested www.sundayherald.com/7461 by the way during a business deal my response to journalists is "no comment" so they had to make this story up.. don't you just love fiction

I didn't even know I was in the newspapers, when I found out I was in the air flying towards Disney World, it was so strange sitting on a plane and then reading your name and in the business section, front page of the Sunday Herald.. when I got back from my holiday I had all these "friends" looking for me.. word on the street was I made 1 million out the deal LOL oh I wish

Edited because I can't spell even after re-reading it

  Expired .co.uk names

The problem with these is that Nominet are extremely reluctant to release them. If they can't contact the owner they just leave them 'detagged' and without nameservers for years it would seem. I'm waiting for some names to become available - when you find a 'detagged' one you need to set up a program to check the 'whois' regularly and automatically register it when available. Any Nominet TAG holder on this forum (Supercod?) may be able to set this up for you.

  Re: Expired .co.uk names

Well for a start you can't get hold of any list of deleted domain names from Nominet, it's not allowed

But if you want a super quick guide to how it works here it is in a nut shell.

Domain renewal is due, no one pays, it gets detagged and then stays that way for 6 weeks (cough, cough) to as long as 18 months (seen some go 2 years now), once Nominet UK done everything it feels it can or if a company has been dissolved at companies house the domain name becomes "suspended" and should in practice be back on the market 6 to 8 weeks time.. when they go back on the market it happens at all times of day and night and in no set order, I know I had 2 under monitor and never got them quick enough, seems checking every 4 hours was not good enough (my fault but I didn't want to loss my tag for overloading the Nominet system).

Anyway bottom line yes I could give you that service if you would like, however give me a few months to get one up and running where you can do it online yourself.. honest I won't charge much for the service, maybe just the price of a domain name. However watch this space. And I will have am affiliate scheme if you think you can point people over to use it.

that would be useful supercod, I've thought about using snapnames before for a .com but something similar for .co.uk would be great.

Hi all there was a site for the uk that did just that it was called nametrack.co.uk which back ordered domain names but with recent developments in the way that Nominet operates, nametrack no longer accept orders. : (
