Inter linking

I think im being penalized for inter site linking, i have a number of websites each linking to each other, since i have done this my google indexed pages seem to be dropping and turning url only.

Could these links to each of the sites be causing the problem?

Ive now removed the links from one of my sites but kept the links pointing to it to see if i can get my dumped pages back... or is it too late now :-(

It's rarely too late. You have to do something pretty bad to get a domain totally blacklisted, although it is much easier to get a penalty applied. Remember that penalties can be lifted though.

The question you have to ask yourself is "have I got a steady stream of links from other quality, not-owned-by-me sites in my topic area?" If the answer is "No", thers your problem, and your answer. If the answer is "Yes", you have more serious problems

The answer is 'No', 99% of my links come from sites owned by me... so in this case i assume the outlook isnt too bad after all.

Im in the process of removing the interlinking and just having 1 link from each site instead of putting the links in the templates of the websites which would give me tens of thousands of links.... looks like ill have to work harder rather than take the easy way out getting links.

Google arnt daft are they :-)
