I was just about to ask a question on this. Something came up at the Expo about this but I didn't hear the comment. Can anyone else remember anything about this?

Where are your alinks pointing? I cant see how alinks pointing to a jump script re direct would be any different to normal links.
But I know there is scripts which automatically convert words to paid for adverts, this could be seen as selling links maybe this is what google are clamping down on.

But if it just converting it to an affiliate link why would google penalise you any more than u using affiliate links by coding them each time, if you hide the affiliate codes surely their would be no problem.
Maybe if you have pages of alinks for loads of words it might trigger something in the google algo, but a couple of relevent links on a page I would like to think would be ok.
I have recently started using alinks to link to a few affiliate links so when I blog it converts some merchants to their affiliate code, I am hoping it does not have any negative effect.

I don't know, but the only difference between affiliate links added automaticaly by
aLinks plugin and affiliate links added manually by me is the "nofollow" attribute.
Well, I also can only suppose but I de-activated the plugin on one of the blogs,
on the other one I just limited the number of linked words. Will see what will
happen after the next Google PR update.
aLinks is a nice plugin and I really hope that it won't cause any problems but just in case
I'm going to ad my links manually for now
