yeah, we are going to implement a "ban list", so basically a list of words that you cant target, like "and" and "that" etc.

the last thing we want is for Tweetdock to be used for spamming, so we will be keeping a close eye on the active campaigns and we will also have a spam reporting form on the site!

its designed to allow our users to provide highly targeted tweets

if someone @spam's your twitter account, twitter will look into it and suspend your account if you are guilty of spamming (the aforementioned coconut head would fall into this category and would be clamped down on pretty quickly )

This looks great but im not sure how it all works atm. Have just signed up and started a campaign so we will see!

    Couple of questions:
    - What is the difference between searching for 'all of these words' and 'any of these words'?
    - How long do campaigns take to become active?
    - What are the pros and cons of changing the number of messages sent per hour?

    Thanks :tup

    Hi Dave,

    Thanks for signing up.

    - The difference between all of these words and any of these words would be....

All of these words only messages someone who says all of the words you enter in that field.

Any of these words would message anyone who says at least one of the words you've entered

if that make sense? might need to reword that

    - campaigns are active as soon as you hit the red status button and confirm you'd like to activate them. tweets are sent hourly, so you will see your first tweet(s) sent within an hour of you making the campaign active

    - The pros are just that you get more messages sent out, so hopefully more traffic, or more followers. The cons are, if you send out 5 tweets an hour you may be at risk of having your account suspended for spamming. If you add enough campaign reply messages you should be fine tho. Iv got plenty of accounts churning out 5 per hour with no problems. If you are provided a good tweet then the user wont complain

We're going to make a few changes, so that you can choose how frequently you'd like to send the tweets. so for example you could send 1 every 3 hours if you wanted to

Let me know if you have any more questions!

    Cheers,

    Mark

    Looks great!

Q: How do the search for fields work?

All these words; do i put specific words (not phrases) and do they need seperating using commas or a comma and a space? i.e.

Like wise with This exact phrase: can i seperate specific phrases with commas?

    Cheers

simple seperate words (for all of these words) by a space.

at the moment I dont think you can have more than one phrase, we wil look to implement that. the way around it is to have multiple campaigns

Tweetdock is currently undergoing some work so new campaigns cannot be added, will be fixed in a few hours

how many messages were you sending per hour for the account?

If you stick to just one or two, you shouldnt have had any problems.

Well in my opinion it as ingenious as twitter itself, the only drawback is that twitter may get stop it in its tracks (there are always damn drawbacks), although yours is restricted to prevent spam it may open the floodgates for the spammers out there to create an unrestricted version.

Would it be a good idea to contact twitter and ask permission so to set a safe allowance of tweats so people can use it without any risk of getting suspended?

Well done, fantastic idea and deserves to do well, fingers crossed :tup

Hi Lee, thanks for your encouraging post

Yep, we are in the process of attempting to be "whitelisted" by twitter, so we will be finding out exactly how many tweets are acceptable.

An unrestricted version would cause a lot of havoc and would be a nightmare, so here's hoping that doesnt happen!

I'll let you all know how we get on with the whitelisting

    cheers,

    hc

    Hi,
Really interesting setup this. Any more developments planned?

I've applied and setup a campaign Mark (account is called Kitbag, our Twitter account is called KitbagUK).

The campaign I've setip - it's a quick and easy one, just so I can see how it works .... I wanted to test at first with an auto-reply to anyone that mentions "Kitbag" or "Kitbag.com" with "see you've mentioned Kitbag - we "tweet" at @KitbagUK if you are interested !"

Can you take a look and make sure I've not done anything daft and that this would work as expected !?!? :cry

    Kind regards

    Hi John,

    Thanks for signing up :-)

I've checked your account and everything seems to be working well

I think a campaign of this sort will do very well.

What i would suggest is adding a few more messages to the campaign, to mix it up a bit, and to make it seem less automated to anyone who visits your profile page.

to do this, simply login to tweetdock, edit the current campaign, simply type out a new message and hit the "Add Message" button, you will then see two messages in the list.

You can add as many messages as you like. The system will choose from them at random each time a tweet is sent

let me know if you need any help at all John.

    Cheers,

    hc
