Looks great though - thanks![]()
My twitter antennae are telling me that you may get an upsurge in your registrations today. :tup
I have a few twitter accounts and I autotweet around 24 times an hour, per account (from a random selection of around 5,000 messages), doesn't really bother twitter as I'm not making any calls to the API and won't be rate-limited.
If you are just tweeting from your app, then you'll be the same, authentication doesn't count as a call.
I wish you success, but, you may find that storing peoples twitter account details will put off as many as are 'turned on'
Good Luck
BTW, fabulous idea

I tried to get you a plug in at #internetworld #iwtd yesterday, but didn't manage it - so I tweeted it instead.

Mark - noticed that the replies have not been happening for the last 12-18 hours or so ...... are you tweaking / playing with setup?
Just that I've added some more messages (to make it randomly pick something different each time) and then seen nothing posted since? Just want to make sure I've not done anything wrong within the control panel?
Another quick question .... does Tweetdock blindly message someone, regardless of whether they already follow you? For example, one of my messages is "Want the latest Kitbag news? See Kitbag.com or follow us at or follow tweets at @KitbagUK". Great for someone talking or mentioning Kitbag that doesn't already follow @KitbagUK .... it may tempt them to follow (which is the aim), but it would be a little repetitive and annoying to people, I would guess, if they get such messages and they are already following them?
Cheers

Kitbag - Europe's leading online sports goods retailer.
Loving it so far!!!
Working really well - and I've got another 20 or so people following me since I started yesterday afternoon :tup
Hi John,
yes, at the moment, a campaign will message anyone except someone that campaign has already messaged. thats a good idea, for it not to follow people who already follow you, so ill try and implement that
im not having any problems with my campaigns at the moment, so i would suggest trying to disable and then re-enable the campaign and see if that fixes it. if it doesnt, then let me know. all other campaigns seem to be working which is weird!
Glad you're liking it
i think the best thing about the tool is the amount of followers you can accrue, then every message you tweet is being seen by lots of potential customers

I also have another 20 or so people followang one of my twatter accounts since yesterday - only thing is that I have never twatted on it and do no promotion of it whatsoever - at least I know the twatterers did not come through this software.
Looks like a neat idea though - out of curiosity, what is different about this service compared to something like tweetlater?
PS I have a faulty keyboard - for some reason i's convert to a's after I type a w!
hi confuscius,
so you got 20 followers in one day without having sent any tweets lol? thats impressive, you got a particularly good username?
the difference (as i see it from a quick look over tweetlater) is that tweetlater sets up an automated tweet from your account. whereas Tweetdock sends automated tweets to other users that have mentioned a certain word or phrase. so they send automated tweets from their account for all their followers to see, but tweetdock allows you to message people who aren't following you who have said certain words. ( i think that makes sense lol) if im wrong, let me know and ill go and have a deeper look at tweetlater
cheers,
hc
Yes, that is the reason because it is attached to a pretty good website name! But the fact is that there is no content on this twatter account.... you got a particularly good username
Thanks for the explanation on the differences. I must confess to being a bit of a twatter cynic with regards to the possible quality of any traffic generated but it may be interesting to see if traffic to a site with lots of things to click may be viable.
Off to ponder for a while.
Any chance of tweaking it so that it sends in reply to rather than just to?
You should check out Kierons recent post.
