Blogs are one of the best tools to create awareness and to spread knowledge about your products or services. The more often you write a blog entry, more revisiting users remain in your loop. It also helps in spreading the keywords you have for your site with the anchor links which create relevancy to the products/services you are selling. So i suggest, use this tool to educate your customers.
Yet another marvellous a4u thread is taking shape. Shame that I have not got any signature links. I must find some? Anyone know where I might look? Oops, going off topic.
I'm still working on making the best out of blogging. Any suggestions?
The best thing you can do is post relevant content that is unique on a regular basis. The content needs to be of interest to the visitor so tutorials, articles, industry relevant news etc. This way you will gain backlinks aswell as being indexed faster in SE's.
Also if you change content on a product/services page you can anchor text link from the blog to that page, which will help get the products/services page changes indexed faster.
You can get backlinks for blogging? How so? I just write my own information. Would it be by posting an external link of your blog from another website?
Because the content is raw information (so not pushing a product or service) other sites are more likely to link to it.
You can give it a helping hand by submitting to article directories and social bookmarking sites.
Setup an excel doc and find yourself 20 of the top article and social bookmarking sites, register and log down the usernames and passwords in the excel doc.
If you blog a really nice post and you feel you have the time just go through the excel doc submitting it.
(remember to wait for the blog post to be indexed for your site first because you could submit the same day as you post it and find out an article directory gets the power for the hard work you have done)
Hope this helps.
If you have anymore questions just ask.
(quick update: if you submit to an article directory most have a resource box try and get an anchor text link in this box back to a services/products page)
