HI there,
what would be your prefered method of promoting a new web2.0 social network site (about art). I am open for all suggestions. I was thinking about sending out mails in the millions to promote the site. But where do I go for "this sort of spam".....???

I'm in a similar position, about to launch a web 2.0 social cruise site, with loads of info on cruise reviews, cruise deals etc, I plan to get a free cruise from one of the major operators and give it away with a email sign-up draw, then promote the idea, via competition sites/freeie sites and pr sites like: WebWire | The First Internet Press Release Distribution Resource | Established 1995

ummm not in ere mate for spam.. but if you are looking for mailing genuine opt into receive mail for that kind of thing list providers or someone to send mail to legitimate emails on your behalf then you'll be paying a fair wedge for the fun of it methinks so your pockets need to be deep and / or your on site monetisation strategy bullet proof !
