Is 100k large? Not by todays standards.
Firstly, sorry if this is in the wrong forum, feel free to move it.
I run a large network of websites and over the past two years have collected a lot of mailing addresses and email addresses (Over 100,000) all in UK. Email addresses needed to be validated in order to access the site.
We've used the mailing list data every now and then, but think it could be put to better use if the data (or sites) were sold.
Does anyone have any ideas on how best to sell the data/sites?
Whats the best price we could expect per contact? 50p, £1 more, less?
Thanks,
Danny

also dont the people who's data you hold have to agree to their data being sold to a 3rd party ?
Hey,
I didn't say the data was large. I said the network of sites was large, 9 sites in total.
The user has selected 3rd party contact, site newsletters or neither. So it is easy for us to filter.
We have never done anything like this before so are looking for the best ways for us to utalise this information or simply sell the data/sites.

It all depends on what the market / products they signed up to and how recent they are.
If they all signed up to a newsletter about personal finance, and all within the last 3 months - 100k current and clean e-mail addresses would be worth a bit.
If they all signed up to 9 different markets over the last 3 years then that is (say) 11k per 'market' with a big turn over in e-mail addresses leaving you low thousands of clean contact for each - add into that what they may have been interested in 3 years ago is not likely to be the same now...
Don't you have products or services of your own that you can market to them?
Does your opt-in emails agreed to a stipulation that you can sell them?
And why sell them? You can use them for better means.
Are you going to sell them because they are not converting? Coz if they do, you wouldn't be selling them IMO..
