    Hi All,

In this post I wanted to give a quick overview as to how Co-Reg Lead operates, the technology and integration processes, optimisation algorithmns used by the ad server and some general tips and ideas.

    What is Co-registration?

Co-registration is a form of advertising, specifically for lead generation, which pays you, the site publisher, a lead rate for each valid 'opt in' you generate.

To start generating revenue from co-reg, the first thing you need is a 'registration path' (this is just a fancy name for a web based form where consumers input their personal contact information, such as name and email address).

Registration paths typically take the form of newsletter or members only site registration forms. However, co-reg can be implemented anywhere that you have data available in the browser's session. For example, profile update pages, forum registrations...even retailers' thank you/receipt pages.

By implementing a Co-Reg Lead path, once your form has been submitted our ad server displays a number of co-registration offers that your site visitor can opt in to (via a simple checkbox). When a user opts in, this information is sent to the advertiser and (providing the data is valid) you earn the appropriate lead rate.

What does the Co-Reg Lead network do for me?

If you already work with co-registration campaigns you will find that Co-Reg Lead operates a little differently to what you might be used to. I mean that in a good way

Typically, to run a co-reg campaign, you are probably used to integrating multiple advertisers individually.

As a network, Co-Reg Lead simplifies this process.

Once you have implemented your path, we provide you with JavaScript code, which allows you to edit your campaign from a web based interface. This allows:

    - A single click to add or remove a new advertiser's offer. (How can we do this if a campaign requires data you do not collect on your form you might ask? Good question... the script detects this advertiser's request for additional 'non-standard' data and provides an additional form input field within the campaign creative).

    - The ad server powering your path will automatically expire any campaign that has terminated or reached its cap. (You can choose to have our ad server automatically replace this campaign with an alternative if you wish).

    - The ad server will monitor the results of your campaigns. Optimising the positioning of the top performing campaigns.

This optimisiation routine is based upon your specific path; we have noticed a big difference on campaign performance from one demographic to another.

    - All your co-reg campaign reporting will be aggregated into one publisher interface.

It makes it all so easy, we wonder why someone hasn't done this before

    Quality, quality, quality

In the US, co-registration was for sometime, highly regarded as a great channel, for advertisers. It then fell into dis-favour, predominently due to poor lead quality. However, it's now making a strong comeback where efforts have been refocused to secure lead QUALITY.

With this in mind, Co-Reg Lead firstly only permits:

    - 100% opt-ins (no pre-checked boxes here)

    - 100% no incentivisation (even offering a 'clck here to check all boxes for more prize draw entries, count as incentivised in our book!)

The final and most important feature to secure quality is that Co-Reg Lead is NOT a blind network.

This means that every advertiser can see an affiliate ID associated to each individual data record, allowing them to stop working with publishers that generate poor quality data. Likewise, not only does this transparency secure ongoing advertising commitment, but it allows advertisers to identify publishers that generate good quality data and incentivise you with increased rates for additional volume (our advertiser hierarchy system - takes care of this for you automatically).

I'm used to just sending data with a POST string, how do I do that?

The short answer is you can't!

A direct POST system would circumvent the transparent/non-blind promise we make to our advertisers.

However, I would question why you want to POST anyway as this would remove the ad server optimisation functionality Co-Reg Lead provides you.

If you are asking because you want to integrate with an existing path you have already created, that's not a problem, our integration instructions outline how to integrate both our advanced JavaScript controlled paths with your existing POST paths.

    More questions

There's bound to be lots of additional questions I haven't yet covered here. I'll exapnd with further articles when I get time, but in the meantime if you need any help, please feel free to use this forum or get in touch directly via the 'feedback/contact' link on the Co-Reg Lead site.

    All the best

Congratulations on the launch of your co-reg platform Neil and well done for the emphasis on ensuring the quality of the leads is higher by them not being incentivised etc.
