Anybody else seen Tradedoubler competing with them on pay per click terms?

I'm pretty certain it is Tradedoubler as nobody else would be using the URL tracker.tradedoubler.com would they?

    Comments, suggestions, explanations welcomed.

Everyone has to use tracker.tradedoubler.com in there links, now if someone wants to show that as the URL on there Google Adwords or what ever then it's up to them.

As for tradedoubler competing, I don't see what the issue is. They have a job to do for clients, much the same way if the client wants to do PPC also. Only time I could say it was an issue is if they said "affiliates" can't do this but they go and do it, then we would have reason for complaint.

Just because you have affiliates don’t mean you should sit back and not promote the clients or if your a client promote yourself, Affiliates are great but you can’t just use it as your 1 and only strategy.

Ok that makes sense, its on Overture and just thought it strange that somebody would use tracker.tradedoubler as their visible url. But I suppose they might.

As for if it was Tradedoubler competing I would find it unethical. They have access to every affiliates statistics, know how much each visitor to a site is worth and therefore would be at an advantage when looking at ROI. Affiliates would find the top performing merchants and then they could muscle into these areas using the information their affiliates had gathered for them.

I agree, however I don't think that's what they are doing.. the same thing could be said of merchants as they know where every single sale comes from and what is selling.

Unless you had hard and fast proof that was going on, then I don't think it's fair to say they are doing it however I think it only fair to discuss what this means and should they, could they can they, do they even have the staff and time and full skills needed to be good at making great ROI on PPC, or is it like I feel better to let the affiliates do the work and take the financial risk but reward them for it.
