Is anyone else still promoting A & L loans? (they finished the card program in Jan).

A & L have given me so many headaches its ubelievable. the main problems are

    - not batching leads regularly
    - not paying invoices

So leads are posted late (none posted yet for Feb). Then last month they didn't pay their invoice and the amount that I earned in November (because of the delayed batching) wasn't paid. not happy.

Now this month all my A & L earnings have MOVED from my account balance and are sitting in "due after next payment" rather than my account balance. This is money earned in Nov, Dec AND Jan that is now showing as due at the end of April.

This is a joke. Its not a huge amount of money but it is significant. No wonder top merchants like First Direct have moved to CJ.

I e-mailed TD but of course they were too busy to reply.

Has this happened to anyone else?

PS - QGJ, I wish I had taken your advice!

Sometimes I hate to be correct because of the effect is has on fellow affiliates, but this program had all the hallmarks of an unsavory program from the start.

It doesn't matter how much commission is, it's the principle and distrust this program has caused.

Remember transactions I witnessed were not rewarded, if the visitor has been to the site ever in the past, you'll not receive anything. But they hadn't.

Drop it and move on, and let this program fester into oblivion, unfortunately some poor soles are promoting it and none the wiser. So the merchant takes advantage of these.

Our relationship has improved with TD a bit, but my colleague did call the other day, and before introducing themselves the person on reception did say is this about a problem with A & L.

Which indicated, people were still having issues.

Some other programs across all the networks are converting quite nicely.

Alliance & Leicester are now promoting their own shopping directory on their main site...perhaps another reason why not to link to them.

There's been a lot of A&L activity in the last couple of weeks.

First they added some extra credit card sales for January, after I thought I'd seen the last of them.

Then they added a load of extra loan sales for November/December last year, which made my balance jump up nicely.

Then they added some loan sales for January/February this year, which was another decent amount.

Then they sent an email saying they would start to batch their sales weekly from the first week in April (presumably that means next week), and would be giving some people a bonus for thier fourth quarter performance last year.

Soon after I got the bonus, which was another nice amount.

Then they removed all 2003 sales, so my balance took a big drop,.

I have no idea where the 2003 transactions have gone, but based on past experience they will eventually get it right.
I don't believe them when they say they'll update the stats weekly, because they haven't kept previous promises about updating the stats.

Thank God its not just me JF!

I hate to admit it but I'm still promoting them as the results I have been getting are excellent. I don't get paid for them but the results are excellent!

Its a bit disconcerting when your balance is jumping up and down wildly but 2002 payments are now all up to date and TD assure me that 2003 transactions will be reposted soon. I doubt they will start doing them weekly though based on past experience.

As for the shopping site - we'll that is an issue and I'll monitor the results to see what imapct this has.

QGJ - if it goes belly up and causes me loads of problems you can tell me what an idiot I am, but sometimes the lure of £££'s is too much!

Some A&L loan transactions have now appeared for the end of January, and for March. But nothing for February, or most of January.
I suspect the transactions that have just appeared are new ones, rather than the ones that disappeared earlier this week.

Another batch of loan transactions has now been added for Jan and Feb. The credit card transactions are still missing though.

yep- loans in for jan, feb and march for me but no credit cards. Not a huge amount of these anyway as it finished on the 17th I think.

    Cracking results though!

Tradedoubler sent an email to affiliates at the end of March saying that "Beginning with the first week in April, your statistics will be updated weekly instead of monthly."

Stats were then updated in the first week of April.

But based on their previous broken promises I wasn't expecting the weekly updates to continue, so I wasn't surpsised when there was no update in the second week of April. Or the third or fourth weeks of April, and even the first week of May.

But finally, over five weeks after the last one, they've made another "weekly" update.

Yet again the performance is great, but it would be nice if they would keep to their promises.
They've let us down so many times I'm considering making Loanspage my preferred loan merchant. Their performance is also excellent, and leads get validated in hours rather than months.

Loanpage. I missed that one. Is it an indie deal or on one of the networks.

I see. Thats why I missed it. Logistically I try and stick with the big three networks. But maybe I should have a look. Many thanks.
