Thread: currys - get rid?

I'd be grateful if someone could give me a bit of advice on whether or not I should remove a merchant - currys in this instance - from my site after being made aware of poor levels of service.

I ordered something on 16/12 (the site boasted that it would still be delivered before Christmas). Since then - 14 days later, nothing. The order has not even been processed, emails go unanswered. On top of the that the site is the slowest shop site I've ever used, with connections sometimes taking >30 seconds. Basically, the online service is as poor as their high-street shop.

Basically what I'm asking is, would others here continue to promote a merchant of this quality? As I'm just starting out I won't be able to make a judgement on how well curry's performs for at least a month or two, until I get some traffic to my site, but will it do more harm than good? And would I be shooting myself in the foot by removing a large merchant at this early stage?

If you're not happy promoting something then don't promote it - send your users to Comet or another electrical store.

There's plenty of merchants to choose from and if your users are disappointed by a service you've recommended then it can occasionally have a knock on effect on your own site.

Principles sometimes have to go to the back burner in this game - but it doesn't hurt you to occasionally have a couple

Considering the direction this thread was heading

    pub105.ezboard.com/fukaff...=509.topic

id be inclined to favour Comet under DGM2

What a joke. 22 days later, after my emails have been ignored, I get a default mail message saying item out of stock, order cancelled.

Now that's what I call customer service, Currys, way to go!

But you can still purchase the item on their site. It has a little "temporarily unavailable" tag on it, but you wouldn't see it unless you were looking, and you can still "add to cart".

    Pathetic.
