Amongst the worst convertors on any network.
Just received this email:-
Some time ago you had applied to The GM Platinum Card affiliate program and had your application denied. This was due to a stance by The GM Platinum Card, which prohibited association with sites that include Gambling sections.
This restriction has been relaxed, and you are free to re-apply to the program.
To do this you will need to create another Site ID in your TradeDoubler account.
Click on “Edit site info” in the menu
Press the “Add site” button
Fill in the details for a new site
Suggestion: Enter the same Site Name, but followed by a number, as in “Mysite (2).”
Do not use the same exact site name.
Re-apply to The GM Platinum Card program with the new site.
Has anyone else received this?
Does GM card convert?
Is it really worth the hassle to create a new site id?
I dont know if anyone from GM visits this forum but I dont think I should have to go to this carry on just to add you to my site, now that yous have realised you shot yourselves in the foot by denying sites which had gambling content.
So unless anyone can say GM Cards are great convertors i think i shall give them a miss for now.
Amongst the worst convertors on any network.
Thanks Pericom, I will give them a miss as I have a few good converting cards already.
Will.
I had a request from a different merchant who wanted me to reapply because the previous affiliate manager was an idiot and the new manager saw value in the traffic I could provide.
He described the same longwinded procedure in order for me to reapply which suggests it is the TradeDoubler software which is lacking...
I didn't reapply despite wanting that merchant because it's already confusing enough tracking my sites, without having to create a new duplicate site with one advertiser on it!

- just go to your site list and "create" a new site. I.e. a new site label.
If you had http://www.xyz.com
and you had the site label in TD of XYZ
just create a new site label of XYZ2 which has the same info as XYZ.
Peice of pish.
GM Card converts quite well for me.
Its very starnge as I know Pericom isn't the only one this doesnt work for.
However my 3 month EPC with GM Card is £197 which makes them one of the top 3 credit cards around.
Always read the smallprint - this one made me laugh:
Partner Points are earned ..at.. Vauxhall Dealers (excluding purchases on petrol and vehicles)
What else are you supposed to buy at Vauxhall Dealers?
What next? Sainsbury's Reward points can be collected on anything except food?
Finally got through to the bit where it explains about cash back.
In effect, for every £100 you spend, you get to save £3 off a new Vauxhall. Maximum rebate is £2500, but to earn this you'd have to charge almost £100k to your card. You have four years to claim the discount.
This is all well and good, subject to:
1) You wanting to buy a Vauxhall - and still wanting one when it comes to claiming your rebate
2) You being unable to negotiate any other discounts with the dealers which might be worth as much as the cash back you would accumulate.
methinks if u can whack £25k through your card in a year then chances are vauxhall aint got what you want to drive anyway..
I once slapped £17k through an amex in one year for the points... I had enough for a week in a 5 star hotel in monte carlo then the (now ex) wife defaulted on all her loans and cards and the house came tumbling down.. so to speak...
never did get them damn amex points... grrrrrr
