Getting More traffic to your website.
This is always the million dollar question. How do you get traffic to your website?
You have the key words and the meta tags, what next?
For beginners I would suggest a simple link exchange (swap).
Find websites that are similar to yours and ask them to place your link on their website in exchange for you placing their link on your website. It doesn't have to be on the home page. By doing this, you will a) Get traffic from your referring website.
b) Google will place you higher in their directory.
Paying for traffic.
Some affiliates pay to get traffic to their websites. You may have heard of espotting, overture or google adwords. This method of getting traffic is called pay per click. You bid on keywords or phrases, based on how much you want to spend per unique click through, the higher you bid the higher you will appear up in the search engines. Example: Using overture free term suggestion tool and view bids tools.
Lets say I want to promote this product
Thermo Ceramic Straightening Iron By Hairtools. Using the term suggestion tool, type in, hair straightening irons and click search. The results you get will tell you how many people are searching on that term. Now go to your view bids tool, type in the same term. The results will tell you what the minimum bid is. In this instance, 60 people were searching for the term, hair straightening irons, and to get to the top of the search engine, I would have to pay 10p per click.
