Hi
Looks good!
Have you got a list of all the category names?
Cheers
Good morning all,
TradeDoubler have released the product feed system for all publishers.
You can find the product search in the top left hand menu box after you login.
Please email me/post here with your suggestions, comments and feedback.
Kind regards,
Nick

just cosmetic but it looks like the cell/table the list is in is too wide
Nick,
A couple of comments -
* I think the page layout needs to be worked on - I use 1024x768 and the text goes off the righthand side of the screen.
* Your post of 15/10 said "We now have 61,302 categorised products, increasing every day." - by my calculation there are less than 30000 on the browse list.
In all I'd say great for those affiliates who want a bit of quick content - but where is the means of accessing a full CSV/XML dump of a merchants products that some of us want.
Also, how many merchants have actually provided product lists? The advanced search only seems to have 5 in it.

just doing the fitness equipment products
using the code first off looks good - but when I click any of the page numbers at the bottom I get pages that are messed up:
e.g.
document.writeln('
Reebok Core Board

Initial thoughts are that it looks pretty good even if at the moment products seem to be from a very limited range of merchants (Crocus, Yoox and John Lewis as far as I can see) - though it is very nice to have easy access to John Lewis products and probably worth the effort for that alone.
The number of products does only seem to be about half those previously announced - maybe tradedoubler has been taken over by new labour (whoops sorry - political comment -)
Would be good to see some sample stylesheets so we can see exactly what we can change.
But on the whole guys - good start - add a load more products and it was definitely worth the wait IMHO.
Thanks for the feedback so far - keep it coming

Yes - the tables are wide and this is something we will address.
TradeDoubler have 60,000 products accross Europe, but we have 30,000 for the UK at present.
CSV/Excel/XML - I will be talking about this shortly.
Yes, you are correct 5 advertisers in the UK.

When using the text link and box stylesheet you can only use iFrames to display the product feed.
Additionally, some advertisers have supplied the feeds with html surrounding the product and its description. TradeDoubler are working on a tool to strip the HTML off and are asking all advertisers not to supply it in this method.
Finally much better documentation explaining the prodcut feed system will soon be available.
The TradeDoubler development team are closely reading this thread, so if you have some feedback, please make sure you email nick.roveta@tradedoubler.com or post here.
Thanks,
Nick

It's a great leap forward - well done TD.
But I'm a bit perplexed why they haven't taken the next step and developed a full web service. The product feed system is kind of like a web service and kind of not - no SOAP, WSDL etc..
Are they any limitations on using the system? I seem to remember reading somewhere that if we use the XML feeds then the affiliate has to use some form of caching on their server so the TD server doesn't get hit constantly which is a sensible idea. How long does the cache need to be?
Also, some queries return the message 'more than 100 products found first 100 displayed' - how do you get hold of the 101st+ products? They don't seem to be returned in the XML.
Nick,
It's great to see that TD are taking notice of what affiliates want/need.
The JS/IFrame content units don't really fit in with my style of site, but I'll put a few into one of my sites to see how they perform.
I look forward to your comments on CVS/XML!
Jack,
First off welcome to the forum.
I think we will eventually get a full service of some sort - we have at least got the ability to get XML (even if it is limited to 100 products, but see below).
I think you can get around the 100 products by being more specific in your searches - but it would be nice to have an option to specify a 'page number variable' to get items 101 - 200 and so on.
Looks really good....
are there plans to incease the product list......are merchants being badgered about it?
I was looking at the John Lewis lingerie items and just a point.....each size of each lingerie item is a separate product that goes through to the same page where you select your size.....
would be easier if the prodduct was generic going through to that product page..
ie. instead of "such and such bra 34c" have just such and "such and such bra".
Just my 2p....

is there any way to reduce the amount of search results produced to say 4,

I can reduce the results to 4 per page, but it still produces a link to another page of results which produces an error
was just about to ask this.is there any way to reduce the amount of search results produced to say 4,
and also make the results produced wider, they are like 150 - 200 pixels wide from the javascript shelf option. These two things need to be available to alter for the script to work well. I mean you don't know whether the results will produce 2 or 200 on a page
Think I'll wait for a nice CSV or something.
Fining it all a bit, messy at moment... and trying to get about the TD product search bit isn't great as my foreign isn't too great...
Shame we're going to have to apply for all the programmes too.... although it's only like 5 at moment will hopefully increase soon.Scegli prodotti Ricerca Avanzata
If a CSV could be made available with the same things available as on the TD site (name, description, price, image), id be happy.

Would be nice to have a 'merchantName' node as well - as it is you can only tell which merchant a product comes from by looking at the imageUrl
