There's an interview with Will Cooper, the Chief Marketing Office of Tradedoubler, who I'm sure most of us met at the g2g in June in the latest edition of Internet Works magazine (March 2004 issue, Movers and Shakers section).

It's quite a positive article for our industry, and whilst it appears targeted at potential merchants rather than giving the credit deserved to the affiliate sales force, it certainly portays the affiliate model as a very attractive one, and implies that any online business not utilising affiliates is losing out.

A couple of extracts...

"The affiliate marketing model continues to dominate the online advertising industry"

"I expect to see more and more traditional businesses either come online for the first time, or significantly increase their investment in this area"

"as a result, e-commerce will continue to achieve massive growth, which will make the affiliate marketing model more and more attractive to both advertisers and publishers"

"we will also see some consolidation amongst the providers"

So well done TD... it's good to see the UK Internet press portaying Affiliate Marketing in a positive light without mentioning the words "Amazon".
