  Dixons / Currys

Amongst all your expert affiliates out there is anyone earning more that didly squat out of Dixons / Currys?

One glance at their prices, shows them, with the odd exception, to be more expensive that the majority of online merchants selling electrical goods. Presumably this explains none existent sales.

The lousy 2% commission really inspires you to spend hours online plugging these poor convertors.

I know what I would rather spend my time doing.

They convert for us quite well - think it maybe because although their prices may be higher than others they are a name everyone knows - after all if you asked your average man on the street to name a pc outlet they would probably say PC World even though you can get most things they sell much cheaper elsewhere.

Yeah, it amazes me people like to buy from Currys, Dixons and PC World but they do and the promotions help keep things ticking along. Fair number of reversals last time a checked though.

It's horses for courses...

We don't rate PC World, but Currys is quite good, probably better than Dixons.

Our EPC on very generic untargeted traffic is:

Currys 7p
Dixons 6p
PC World 4p

Currys & Dixons have a tiered structure on for the commission and it doesn't take a lot of sales to get to the higher levels

  Currys Vouchers Converting Well

I'll echo what OJG said about the tiered commission levels not being difficult to achieve.

And I am getting fantastic results from the current voucher promotion (lasts till May 3) from Currys:

Last months earnings per click was 12.2p

This months is an impressive 35.5p.

I am on 4% commission level and specialise in white goods which accounts for those figures but Currys is a better electrical merchant than it was and it's promotions really do work. And the current promotion is for two months and not a one weekend wonder!

  Excellent results from Currys promotion

Just a note to say the Currys voucher promotion has worked a treat this month for white goods. Never had Currys stats anything like this before, in fact Currys are normally a poor converter:

March 2004:

Currys 66 sales Earnings per click: 37.9p

Compared with the Comet who have been the star electrical retailer for as long as I can remember.

Comet 88 sales Earnings per click: 30.9 US cents

This Currys promotion lasts til 3 May 2004 so push it if you are not already doing so.

And perhaps Currys will consider lowering their prices generally if my stats are typical for this promotion?

Great feedback! Big smiles!

Currys are already very competitive on their Television pricing proposition and over this year they will be investing heavily a similar proposition on other product categories so hopefully Currys will continue to go well for you.

Assuming the voucher doesnt effect their margin negatively im sure we can run another one at some point....yey!

Good to hear that other product categories may become more competitive during the year. Better to have straightforward lower prices on the website than to expect customers to jump through hoops with a voucher code malarkey!

Are there tiered commission rates for Dixons and Currys? I couldn't find any information about it on the Merchant pages.

thanks

David
