Blackstar changing name to sendit.com

first I heard was an email from them this evening (the joys of a wireless connection whilst watching tv)

This is the copy:

Dear Affiliate,

Blackstar is changing its name to Sendit.com on 31st March. Don’t worry though, your customers will continue to enjoy fantastic prices, free delivery, great service and the widest range of titles available.

More importantly, Sendit.com will be offering you even more commission to celebrate the launch! For the next month, the rate of commission is going up to 6% from 5% making it one of the best available from DVD retailers! Sendit.com is also holding a 5 day sale to promote some of the biggest titles at the lowest prices, including the massive pre-order of Lord of the Rings: Return of the King at £13.99; see below for details.

New graphics have been uploaded so please change over to Sendit.com as soon as possible!

what a dreadful name!

blackstar wasn't the best name in the world but sendit is just naff.

i've always liked blackstar (i remember the first time i ordered from them and received a hand written comp slip with the order!) but this smacks of desperation.

very sad.

yeh - I first bought from them probs 5/6 years ago and got one of those compliment slips and thought it was well cool. Send it is just $hite.

Surely no sane company would change their effective branding to "sendit" - ok if you;re a courier but not if you're a dvd store.

Me thinks they could have been sued by http://www.blackstar.com/ or somethinglike that??????
