Nick. Since its now a month on, and your adware publishers have now got to comply with the addendum, is TD willing to give any information on how many partnerships they have terminated because publishers have been unable to comply with the changes? And what has been TD's policy about non compliant software that is already installed?

Also would it be possible to get some of the outstanding questions in this thread answered, most are listed a few posts back.

As far as I understand it, your db now has a flag for which site ids are connected with adware, so will be unable to overwrite recent cookies. How can we know if some adware, that is using TD links, has been flagged in that database? I.e. if we spot some adware uses siteid 666, how do we know if it's know about to TD?

Well I have just finished testing all of my TD links. And I have found that some are leaving cookies with the server transfer some are not.

But more interstingly some of my normal TD links are not leaving a cookie either.

Nick have you made any changes in the last 3 - 6 days that could be causing problems with tracking ?

I have deleted all my cookies before testing the links. Also checked the error logs on TD nothing much there.

If you say there is no problem using redirects fair enough. But someone else from TD has been on here saying the opposite, so you can see why I am getting excited.

I see that announced in the latest Tradedoubler newsletter is the dumping of 180Solutions and Claria.

What are affiliates thoughts about this?

Shame it took them so long to do something that all the other UK networks did months ago.

Has to be good news - as above shame it took them so long to do it but well done TD for finally biting the bullet - lets hope that this means the whole of the UK affiliate space will now be spyware free...
Never argue with idiots. They just drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.

It is the "Tradedoubler Christmas Blitz" newsletter.

Available on their site, or I can email you a copy over.

Well I haven't seen it yet, but just because they've removed two doesn't make the adware addendum any better - having said that, if they will post and let us know what rules the software broke, it may incourage me that they are applying it well.

The problem on the US forums now is, although 180 have been removed from a lot of programs, any affiliate can buy keywords on their software and show their own affiliate links. So there are 100's of affiliate codes being used to popup over merchants sites etc.

This is possible to detect from the tracking logs, but unfortunately I don't think we will ever know what monitoring networks have in place.

(This isn't the thread I was looking for but I've go to dash out: - http://abw.infopop.cc/eve/ubb.x?a=tp...89&m=288108409 - and if you want a laugh read about the titanium awards in the linkshare forum "to recognize those affiliates who are able to drive the most revenues during a specific period of time" - awarded 3 times and had to revoked as they didn't notice these top affiliates were using adware in one case and cookie stuffing in the other 2)

I would be intrested to know if TD would recognise all the other company name guises these go under.

Only yesterday we had our regular monthly email from Metrics Direct requesting to work with them.

Until there is an announcement to affiliates, I will personally err on the side of caution. By claiming to suddenly discover spyware cannot be compared to what has been maintained since the Limo Club by proactive parties....it's not as if the wheel has been invented.

The timing is interesting too with announcements & progress with various industry bodies, and agree with the point made that the holes in Addendum require filling.

If a genuine stance by TD, then it is a warmly welcomed tenditive step in the right direction, but in the meantime will sit back and observe.

When the UK industry is totally clean from networks to ppc search engines to merchants to affiliates working with spyware, then we can rejoice....not making any claims to any efforts inputed but reassuringly knowing that we can get on about our business.
