    Dear affiliate,

KLM has been reviewing our keyword buying policy across Europe, related to the KLM brand name over the past few months and after much research and discussion have decided to alter the keyword buying policy on a pan-european basis. The changes will be as follows.

Affiliates are still encouraged to use KLM in the description of their website, such as to explain to a visitor that they sell KLM tickets (ie. KLM tickets available here). However, with respect to the term KLM or combinations with KLM, they can not be:

    - used as a keyword
    - used in the title of a link on any PPC search engines
    - be visible in the URL or destination click-through URL

This change in the keyword buying policy will go into effect in the UK on June 15th, 2004, and all the relevant PPC search engines have been notified.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email kelvin.mangaroo@tradedoubler.com.

    Kind regards,

    KLM Affiliate Team

So what about a URL on your site that says

    - be visible in the URL or destination click-through URL

so if you have a directory are they for bidding this?

    I certainly hope not !!!

I think its just for PPC search engines Qui... They would have no control over filenames we use on our sites. If they chose that route they would no doubt lose many good quality affiliates, as its common practice for many to include details of the merchant with a description and use the merchant name in the filename.
