Oh yeah 30 days - DOH! Didn't read that bit properly.
Cheers
So they have given the 30 days notice.Beginning Wednesday 28 July, the following restrictions will be in effect for the johnlewis.com affiliate program
Whilst I can understand the need for them to protect their brand name, I'm unclear on their reasoning behind the use of the name in urls and the limitation of the number of times one can mention 'John Lewis' on a page.
What would really help is an explanation behind these decisions... oh I've said that before... if people communicate then others can either begin to understand or open discussion in a reasoned manner.
As is, although they have given 30 days notice it's led to a detrimental discussion regarding the program.
Given that we're in a technological revolution with regards to communication it's shocking imo that the parties involved (i.e. TD and John Lewis) have not been able to explain their reasonings - either in the forum or in the initial email they sent.
We are after all 'partners' - I wouldn't expect any company I deal with to change a contract without an explanation or justification. Just seems to me to be a polite thing to do!

Loquax,
Your right, that is the problem, there has been lack of consulatation with affiliates and it's all too often on their terms rather than mutually agreed terms and conditions.
However on CJ, there were a couple of merchants where we didn't approve special terms and quite often these get sorted out amicably.
