right just setting up a bit of a site for this and having a play about making sure links work and all that.

Tested the plain text link in IE 6... great works fine and gets you to a decent page.

Tested it in firefox and you get some error page "There appears to be a problem with the following:
There has been an error while processing your request."

it still sets the cookie but it just seems (if I was your average internet user) that the sites nackered.

Now just had a mate check the link, connecting via Virgin on both IE6 and Firefox again and he cant access with any of them. So sent him to
    http://www.national-lottery.co.uk

And he cant even access that.

So, I could do with knowing exactly who can access the National Lottery site as it appears Virgin customers cant (prove me wrong).

If you can / cant access the national lottery site could you post please, ISP, broser version etc and ill fire something off to TD in t'mornin

Ditto Got the error message with Firefox and also got it with Mozilla 1.71.

    Same with Enta and Tiscali.

So it looks like its not a Virgin problem.

Sorry forgot to add that it worked with IE 6.

Looks like the Lottery site is only compatible with IE.

Bit naughty that, think of all the customers who you could be missing out on.

It worked OK in Opera 7.50 & 7.10 but failed in firefox. It is serving a different page to firefox, so I tried changed my firefox useragent to a standard IE one. It worked!

I expect they are just checking for MSIE 5 in the useragent, which Opera fakes, but firefox doesn't.

Could he have either spyware or security software that is modifying his useragent? If you've got access to raw logs from your sites, get him to access a page then look to see what useragent is being sent.

We got accepted today for a finance site.... obviously someone looking for a credit card is going to want to play the lottery - whilst someone interested in winning stuff, playing games online and having a flutter doesn't....

It's a lottery whether the site is working or not. This is the only prog I have ever had complaints about. It's up and down like a call girl's mattress!
I persevered with it for three weeks ...then dumped it.

    Regards
