  Misco

Tradedoubler sent this email.

Dear Simply Computer Affiliate Partners,

Systemax Europe has announced that it is to merge its two UK IT reseller divisions into a single operation. The UK consumer division previously operating under the Simply Computers brand will be gradually absorbed into the Misco division which in the past has primarily focussed on the Business, Corporate and Public Sector markets. The merged brands will eventually operate under the Misco brand and will continue to serve both the business and consumer markets.

The rebranding will be a phased operation over a period of months, consequently the Simply brand will continue to be seen for some time to come. The Simply website is the first to transition with a unique consumer focused home page followed by a redirect to Misco.co.uk.

We request that all affiliates re-apply to the Misco program which rewards a flat 5% commission structure.

Our target date to cease tracking links to Simply is 15 March 2005. We will work hard with TradeDoubler to ensure a smooth transition and uninterrupted payments.

"The rebranding measures are designed to improve efficiency and competitiveness which over time will be to the benefit of all of our customers. We remain as strongly committed to the consumer market in the UK as ever and we will continue to develop our strength in this market place. This change will in no way affect the high quality of service, both pre and post sales, offered to all of our customers. The merging of the two brands will make Misco's presence in both the consumer and business markets even stronger" commented Terry Shaw, Vice President of European Operations.

Misco has a 20 years presence in the UK IT industry and has strong relationships with Channel partners at all levels. The merging of the UK Divisions will only further strengthen those relationships going forward to the ultimate benefit of our customers

Personally I think this is a mistake for them. I have heard of Simply Computers and as a brand it has awareness.

It might just be me but who the hell are Misco ?

They might be massive but in terms of brand its not great in my opinion.

I emailed Misco about a feed when the Simply site started redirecting but, since TD won't give out contact details, I've only been able to send it to one of their sales addresses so don't really expect a reply.

They are promoting the site on Kelkoo so theres a good chance there is an existing feed file somewhere.

I agree it does seem a seem odd to be getting rid of Simply but Misco is quite well known in bussiness, due to them mailshoting their catalogue to anyone slightly connected with IT, so I guess theres not that much between them and it must be cheaper to promote one brand than two.

So how many weeks do you think it will last before commissions are dropped to match the ones that were on the Simply program? 6-8 is my guess.

Hi Everyone,

Just to let you know that Misco have a feed in the pipeline. It should be available early next week.
