    Tesco Tradedoubler Affiliates eCoupon Policy

There have recently been instances where affiliate websites have been promoting Tesco.com eCoupon codes, which should only be used for personal use.

As an affiliate when joining the Tradedoubler Tesco program you have agreed to certain terms and conditions that state you will not mis-represent Tesco in any way

“The Affiliate must comply with the requirements of the Affiliate Programme including in particular any stipulations as to the nature and content of the Affiliate’s web site and the use of third party or other Affiliates trade marks and logos”.

“Tradedoubler is entitled to terminate this Agreement and/or suspend the Affiliate from Tradedoubler’s service or from a certain company’s Affiliate Program if:

    1. Tradedoubler considers the Affiliate or the content of their website inappropriate in any way”.

We would like to make clear that the promotion of eCoupon codes is a direct violation of this condition, as well as not supporting the spirit of an affiliate network.

Affiliate websites are not to promote any Tesco eCoupons on their site. The only exception to this rule is if the eCoupon code has been issued through Tradedoubler on behalf of Tesco.com.

Every eCoupon code issued has associated terms & conditions, these clearly state that eCoupons should not be promoted by the recipient:

“Offer applies only to the recipients of this mailing. This eCoupon is and shall remain the property of Tesco Stores Limited and is not for resale or publication”.

If an affiliate is found to be inappropriately promoting eCoupons they shall receive a formal warning from Tesco and Tradedoubler.
If the offending eCoupon code is not removed within 1 week, a second warning will be issued. If the same affiliate inappropriately promotes another eCoupon code they will receive their third and final warning. If this is not obeyed within 48 hours Tesco and Tradedoubler will terminate the relationship with the affiliate concerned.

Tesco prices and promotions are competitive and conversion rates have historically been high. Tesco will continue to work with our affiliates on the Tradedoubler program to increase the success of the program, however the matter of eCoupon code mis-use will be stringently enforced.

If there is any confusion in regards to promoting Tesco in a legitimate way please contact Tesco’s TradeDoubler Account Manager at Josephine.simonsen@tradedoubler.com

    Yours sincerely,

    Josephine Simonsen

I'm glad to see merchants taking an interest in sorting out problems with voucher code use.

I'd prefer this to be combined with some proactive moves too though...such as issuing affiliates with promo codes we can promote. Iceland was giving away £10 off £40 and Tesco hand the £5 off £50 out like candy in any Tesco store.
