the Debenhams site is running to full capacity at the moment because of a 2 day 25% off offer that they are running. The Debenhams site runs off a number of different servers, and so at one point the site may appear to be down to one user and be working for another. Debenhams are working on this to assist and fix the problem so that no users are referred to the holding page - but due to the demand, they are not currently able to accommodate every visitor simultaneously.

Hi Nick,
Well that's a plausible explanation and impossible to prove or disprove but the reality is I've checked the link loads of times over the past 2 days and ALWAYS arrived on the holding page.
The suspicious side of my nature was wondering how hard it would be to configure their server load-balancing software to queue affiliate traffic to optimise their profit but I've tried typing in the URL and still always end up at the holding page.
I'm pleased the promo has been extended and I've had a couple of sales so someone must be using the site but it's a huge own goal of an online promotion isn't it?
