  Link matrix issues

OK I want a text link. a plain opld fashioned boring text link.

Link matrix.
Get link code.
It then gives me a link code.
Fab.
Then I need to check its on the right program ID... so I click on join this program and that takes me through a wormhole to the old td site which doesn't work. There are no sites in the drop down box.
Its showing an ID code I know to be wrong but then looking at the graphic links I picked up for the site I'm working on and suddenly I recognise the code thats got attached to it - a completely unrelated one ...
NOW I know I'd got the correct site picked in the drop down...

Does this mean I have to check EVERY link I've put up over the last week or so to make sure and double check that the wrong site ID hasn't been put in?

AGGHH This is SO frustrating.

Yep, I feel your pain - been there, done that.
It's no better through the 'Your programs' link.
You can 'get code' for anything, except a text link.

What I do is find any link that lands on the right page, click the 'Custom' radio button and excise the href part. Works OK but probably plays hell with the merchant's link metrics.

Ah go on - this is more fun. I want to search for a merchant but have to pick exactly how it is ... john lewis doesn't work - you have to search for johnlewis...

I’m thinking that the first person to release a “TD For Dummies” book will make a mint. There’s nothing I can say that hasn’t already been moaned about already but to say that the interface is intuitive and user friendly would be a great understatement.

Today I’ve wasted so much time simply trying to find out various competitor program details, create simple text links, even find company websites.

For example, simply trying to list all mobile phone programs. Tried locating the mobile or phone category… doesn’t exist.

Search programs for “mobile”… 1 set of results

Search programs for “phone” … another set of results

Decide to leave search box blank and list all programs in the telecommunications group… another set of results.

20 clicks later finally have a few details but left wondering have I missed something and have to search all over again just to make sure.

Later that day I kick myself as text links and urls are all located in the link matrix.

Decide to scrap this idea and work on something more productive that doesn’t involve TD.

Fraser seems to know their stuff
Had this problem with the link matrix yesterday too. I don't think that TD should ever provide a link that won't work. The system can tell which programs I am signed up to so why does it show me links that won't work!

If it's the same problem I'm getting when I try to get a text link, it might be a javascript problem, as I get the javascript alert come up in IE.

By the way has anyone managed to set any deeplinks with any confidence?

Hi Mogga,

I was not aware of the problem with the Link Matrix going back to the old interface.

I have now fixed this problem. When you click on 'join program' it now takes you to the program page (new interface) so you can apply.

Apologies for the inconvenience. However, if you do find more problems please send me an email as this is the quickest and best way to fix an issue.

Many thanks
Andy Andreou
