  Problem with ASOS?

I've just had an e-mail from TradeDoubler, telling me that my ASOS affiliate participation has just been ended. I'm sure I haven't done anything wrong, so wondered if anyone knew what was up with this?

Should I re-apply or should I look somewhere else?

I want to know what's happening, 'cos it's integrated into my site in a few places using their product feed and it would be a pain to pull it all apart if I don't need to.

Does anyone know of a clothing store which I could use instead? Preferably, one with a CSV-based product feed, like the ASOS one (I used it to generate product descriptions, highlight products, etc).

Thanks for any pointers.

Cheers,
Ian

Ian

Take a look at this thread and you will get a lot of what is happening.

Bone clothing, Jabba Wocky, Frank is Frank etc are good replacements and i think other people have been able to do the swap quite smoothly as there is a crossover of products with ASOS.

Best wishes.

Steven

Steven,

Thanks for the pointer to the old discussion - have to say that I've taken my eye off the ball a bit on this one - combination of non-affiliate work and personal stuff.

To be fair, I have to say that Gavin has responded very quickly to me (sent him an e-mail last night and had the reply first thing this morning) and explained the problem (which was basically that I wasn't crediting ASOS on the content I was generating from their datafeed). He's taken the trouble to go to my site, look at what I've done and let me know what needs to be done.

It's only a few minor changes in my scripts, so it's no big problem for me.

Thanks for the pointers to the other affiliate programmes, I'll check them out too.

Cheers,
Ian

Matthew Wood seems to know their stuff
If ASOS are visiting sites to see if they are 'playing by the rules' then why not email the partners first to say 'hey, can you please credit this feed with asos.com' before taking the final action of removing them from the program.

I presume this was why we were removed.

Some see it as a big insult when this occurs, its totally the wrong way to go about things. asos put yourself in the affiliates shoes and walk a mile.. you'll see a much bigger picture. We are human beings after all not just a statistic on your computer screens..

We would of easily credited a feed, but now we're forced to remove you.. which we will and never replace..

Matt.
